Some of the Shedd Aquarium’s 32,000 aquatic animals can be touched. The Shedd’s Abbott Oceanarium houses beluga whales and Pacific white-sided dolphins. Field Museum unpacks natural history. Máximo the Titanosaur greets visitors as they enter Stanley Field Hall. Inside Ancient Egypt explores an Egyptian tomb’s mysteries. Explore a 5,000-year-old tomb, discover hieroglyphs, see one of the largest mummy collections in the U.S., and visit Bastet, the cat goddess.
Evolving Planet is a dinosaur exhibit. The museum’s dinosaur hall displays prehistoric fossils in their natural environments, including SUE, the complete T. rex skeleton ever found. Then shrink down in Underground Adventure to meet a giant mole cricket and wolf spider.
Learn how rough gems are transformed into beautiful jewellery at the Grainger Hall of Gems. Rare jewels, gold objects, and top designer creations are on display.
