Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art

The Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art is a lapidary arts museum containing exhibitions of gemstones, jewellery, and bejewelled objects, as well as exhibits on earth science. The museum was founded in 1962 in Elmhurst, Illinois, but relocated to Oak Brook, Illinois in 2019.

The Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. It has curated several jewellery displays from the Smithsonian collections.

In 2017, the museum announced intentions to relocate from Elmhurst to a new location in Oak Brook, Illinois, in order to increase space and give visitors more modern amenities. This relocation began in 2019, however owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will not be completed until 2021. Before visiting The Morton Arboretum read about it in our post.
